This month the “Auto-Energía 4.0” project, promoted by CEAGA and the Technological Institute of Galicia (ITG), was completed with the aim to improve the energy efficiency of companies through a new management system based on new technologies.
This system was implemented in 12 companies in the Automotive Sector of Galicia, achieving an average saving of 5% in the total consumption of the production plant.
The “Auto-Energía 4.0” project was launched at the end of 2018 with the aim of using new technologies to digitize the management of energy in companies, responding to their needs in a specific way. The developed system allows to monitor, in real time, the energy consumption of each plant, based on Internet of Things technology and thus facilitating the identification of concrete measures that improve efficiency.
The initiative, funded by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, arose from the results of a previous study, carried out by CEAGA, Inega (Galicia Energy Institute) and Naturgy, to identify energy saving solutions.
The companies participating in the “Auto-Energía 4.0” project were selected based on three criteria: the type of processes, the information received for the previous energy study and the degree of progress in terms of energy savings.
The results of the project were presented at the annual Assembly of CEAGA, held on March 25, with the aim of mainstreaming the solutions implemented to other Cluster companies and publicizing the initiative.
