From today until October 2nd, the deadline for presenting an innovative project to the fifth edition of the Business Factory Auto (BFA) initiative is open, both to the acceleration and consolidation phases for projects with a higher degree of maturity.
The projects interested in participating in this new call will be able to develop their idea, specific to the automotive sector, within the framework of a consolidated accelerator supported by the Galician Automotive Sector, where they will have access to an important series of advantages such as financial support ( up to € 375,000 per project), a workspace, advice and training, network of contacts and incorporation into the Galician automotive sector, led by CEAGA and with the participation of Groupe PSA and other companies in the industry.
For this new edition, different technologies related to digital transformation have been defined as topics of special interest, such as sensor solutions; robotization Pick and Place low cost; automation in defect detection; implementation of automated systems for the movement of materials; integration of information systems; augmented, virtual or mixed reality solutions; identification, location and monitoring systems for interior and exterior packaging; development of support structures (exoskeletons or similar); application of ICT to improve energy efficiency; proposals for solid-state battery technology for the electric vehicle or artificial intelligence solutions for the autonomous vehicle. That is, the projects presented that cover these topics will have priority to enter in the accelerator.
The BFA was born in 2016 promoted by the Xunta de Galicia, the Vigo Free Zone Consortium, Groupe PSA and CEAGA. Its objective is to promote the acceleration and consolidation of specialized automotive projects to transform them into innovative companies that contribute to filling the gaps in the value chain and strengthen the Galician Automotive Sector.
After three editions already completed and the fourth in progress, 45 new companies and more than 252 jobs have been created, with a turnover of 33 million euros at the end of 2019. For this 2020 forecasts estimate 357 jobs and a turnover of 70 million of euros. In addition, gaps have been filled in the value chain of the sector, mainly related to Industry 4.0, and talent and innovation have been attracted to our Community.
